Golden Chicken Stir Fry

Chicken, white onion, celery, carrot, stir-fried in garlic, stir-fry sauce, sesame seeds, five spice powder, and dark sesame oil.
Ingredients -
1/2 pound Boneless. Skinless. Chicken Breasts, cut into thin strips
1/2 cup Stir-Fry Sauce, divided
3 tablespoons Peanut Oil, divided
1 medium White or Yellow Onion, thinly sliced
1 clove minced Garlic
1 stalk Celery, cut diagonally into thin slices
2 Carrots, cut diagonally into thin slices
1 tablespoon toasted Sesame Seeds
1/2 teaspoon Five-Spice Powder
1/4 teaspoon Dark Sesame Oil
2 cups Hot Cooked White Rice
 
Preparation:

1. In a small casserole dish, toss chicken with 2 tablespoons stir-fry sauce.

2. Heat 1-tablespoon peanut oil in wok over medium-high heat.

3. Add chicken to wok. Stir-fry 2 minutes. Remove chicken from wok and set aside.

4. Heat 2 tablespoons peanut oil in wok.

5. Add onion. Stir-fry 2 minutes.

6. Add garlic, celery and carrots. Stir-fry 2 minutes.

7. Add remaining stir-fry sauce to wok.

8. Add chicken to wok.

9. Add sesame seeds and five-spice powder to wok.

10. Stir-fry until chicken is heated through.

11. Remove from heat. Stir in sesame oil.

12. Serve hot with cooked rice.

Five-Spice Powder
Chinese five spice powder is available in supermarkets and Chinese markets. Chinese five spice powder combines toasted peppercorns, star anise, fennel seeds, cinnamon, and cloves.

Combine 1/2 cup cornstarch, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root, 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper, 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 2 cup chicken or beef broth, 1/2 cup dry sherry, and 1/2 cup water.
